About Me

Henri, the curious cook and storyteller behind WondersRecipes, smiling warmly in his chef jacket, holding a whisk and bowl — passionate about blending global flavors and childhood memories in every dish.

Hello! I’m Henri Morel — a British chef with a passion for seafood, storytelling, and the kind of home cooking that brings people together.

I was raised in a small European town where the scent of fresh bread danced through cobblestone streets, and the kitchen was the heart of the home. My earliest food memories are of my grandmother, stirring pots of something magical, teaching me—without words—that food is about so much more than taste. It’s memory. It’s love. It’s culture passed down by hand.

Years later, with a spoon in one hand and a passport in the other, I began chasing flavor across borders. From the spice-laden markets of Marrakech to the pasta kitchens of Milan, I’ve gathered inspiration, learned authentic techniques, and—most importantly—listened to the stories behind the dishes. Those stories live in every recipe I create today.

Seafood is my specialty. I have a deep respect for what the ocean offers, and at Wonders Recipes, I aim to make seafood feel approachable, exciting, and just a little bit magical for home cooks across the U.S. Whether it’s a buttery scallop dish, a rustic fish stew, or grilled shrimp with bold spices, I’ll guide you with clarity, confidence, and heart.

But I don’t stop at seafood. Here, you’ll also find warm family-style meals, vibrant salads, sweet nostalgic desserts, and comfort food that crosses cultures. I believe great food should be both rooted and curious—easy enough for a weeknight, special enough for a celebration.

Every recipe I share is built on three values: approachability, authenticity, and joy. And while I’ve burned my fair share of bread and over-salted the occasional stew, I’ve come to love every imperfect step along the way. Because that’s where the real flavor lives—in the trying, the sharing, and the laughter around the table.

So if you’re here for seafood, soul food, or simply to find a bit of cooking inspiration, welcome. There’s always room at my table.
